Kereang reader profile



this is the reader profile of kerrang magazine it shows that the average audience is male but 40 percent is female this means that to target the audience groups the magazine uses basic colours that do not make either reader group alienated to the colour differences, the reader profile shows that the average age for kerrang is 19, the target audience is a media savvy group, who are active consumers of media, fashion, and computer games. the adult circulation of kerrang is 85377, showing that even though the majority of readers are teens adults still buy it, this is most probably because they buy it for their kids. the magazine targets Young teens this means that the magazine cannot be expensive, because young readers will not have much money. the magazine would advertise about technology because this is what the target audience is in to.

because the magazines readers enjoy fashion it is important to find  out what fashion the reader is interested in, this means that they have to find out what styles are up to date meaning that they need information as to what the readers are wearing otherwise they are not going to read something which they are not going to enjoy i.e. posting about the latest pop clothes in kerrang who's target audience are not into that type of thing.


the reader profile also shows what language to use with the reader because there is no point in talking in text speak to readers who do not enjoy text speak this is also evident in slang, meaning that if the magazine wants to talk to it's target audience it will use the correct terminology that the readers can understand and so that it is not insulting or diminutive to the reader.
