Double Page Spread Draft 1

teacher feedback

 After seeing the teachers feedback I have decided to revert back to a previous draft and I'm going to work on it more by creating some more drafts, I will probably change the colour of the background because it does not fit in to my genre. I will also be editing the images to make the either fit in more to the genre or realign the image, I will also be positioning the images better and including more artist images and using plugs to fill the space.

Strengths: There different pictures and the letter from the editor as it's usual in a music magazine. The page numbers and the titles are clear and easy to read for the reader.

Area of improvements: Maybe you can reorganize the sections and make some more, or just move things around a bit, as it looks like there isn't a defined structure in the positions.

Strengths: You have page numbers and a picture of me.
Areas for improvement: grammar on writing, colours.
Comments: as with last time i have to add insult to injury despite not giving feedback on your actual final piece. To begin with, have the competence to post your final contents so i get to comment on the right one. Secondly, despite not being your fault, i have to say the amount of bright colours in a magazine of your genre is not good. If i wanted to see rainbow vomit i would watch a children's T.V program involving bright scenery and ponies.

this is my first contents page draft it is still in its basic form at the minute, i dislike the background because it looks too plain and is not conventional of the genre I am covering , it  does however feature in some of my genres magazines and so i may still keep this design,

Strengths:

• Bright and colourful, really stand out on page
• Range of fonts used show diversity
• Very different drafts show progress and need for improvement

Improvements:

• Some of your drafts are very simplistic at the moment, so maybe you could add some more features to prevent your drafts from looking empty
• I suggest using a medium closeup instead of a mid-shot as Becky said earlier, it looks a alot better and shows a lot more clarity

Blogger Feedback

Claudia Neal: your blog is good beause it represnts the genre of music you are doing and it has all of your work presented on. For your final piece the image links well with the Mast head of 'Nightmare'.  The skyline and mast head really stand out because of the capital letters used and the white text. Making it bolder and more eye catching.The text you have used for your Mast head to links well with the genre, the blood style. You could improve by adding headlines of other storys that are going to be in your magazine. Furthermore maybe use a different colour for the Mast head because your background has a lot of red and black, so changing the colour would make it stand out more.

Overall I like the blog. I especially like that you have put in the chart of rock songs so that you know which songs to include.
          I like the font of your title for your front cover because it matches the genre you have chosen to do. I think that you should put some stories on the front cover because at the minute it all just looks a bit bare. Also Along the skyline where you have put, "Collect two free posters!", I wouldnt have writen collect and just writen, "Two free posters inside!" or something along those lines.

Overall assessment of blog: Overall a lot of good work has been put into this. Few Pictures need re-uploading due to Blogger errors but it is nice to see good detailed planning and research. A front cover is missing from the blog in the drafts but still overall is quite good.

Strengths of front cover: The front cover is quite interesting to look at. Good use of font and good to see that conventions are stuck by and are correctly used throughout.

Areas for development: Put up final front cover and add the date and issue number.Bit chaotic with all the blood, it looks like someones organs just exploded over the front cover and nobody bothered to wipe it clean.

Fourth Draft

This is my fourth draft which is different from the other images because it features a different image to the others. I changed the image to this one because I believe it matches the genre better because the image is darker and the background is also darker and less busy, I also believe that it matches the conventions better because it is a medium close up which is typically seen on a magazines front cover.


I also changed the price of the magazine due to other monthly issues recently increasing their prices I changed mine to fit in with the conventions of the changing market.
